On August 22, spot prices for PTA increased, while MEG prices continued their upward trend. Prices for semi-gloss polyester chips and glossy polyester chips remained stable for the time being, CDP chip prices showed a steady trend, and polyester bottle chip prices were consolidating. Prices for acrylic staple fiber 1.5D×38mm and acrylic sliver 3D×102mm both underwent adjustments, and prices for CPL and nylon 6 chips showed a trend of adjustment as well.
Under the dual impact of newly added FDY production capacity and shrinking purchasing power, today, in the polyester filament markets of Shengze and Jiaxing, reports of declining FDY prices are incessant. Polyester filament factories have been continuously lowering their ex-factory prices, with general price reductions ranging from 100 to 300 yuan per ton for various polyester filament grades. In contrast, POY and DTY quotations remain relatively stable: POY 150D/48F is quoted at 11,200 yuan per ton; DTY 75D/72F network yarn is quoted at 14,700 yuan per ton; and DTY 150D/144F is quoted at 13,200 yuan per ton. However, the polyester filament market is dominated by scattered, small-scale transactions. Currently, trading volumes in the polyester filament market are not high. Although spinning mills do not hold large inventories of polyester filament, downstream weaving enterprises generally adopt a cautious approach, producing only as much as they can sell or focusing on clearing existing stocks. Meanwhile, polyester filament manufacturers, eager to seize market share, will continue offering price discounts and promotions. Therefore, in the near future, the overall price trend for polyester filament is likely to remain downward.
The market center price for polyester staple fibers with specifications of 1.4D × 38mm is 10,650 yuan per ton. Viscose staple fiber prices remain stable, with the latest market center price hovering around 15,700 yuan per ton.
