Recently, as the weather has grown cooler day by day, there has been a localized increase in the number of merchants from both northern and southern regions entering the Chinese traditional market. The availability of various fabric categories in spot markets has also risen. In particular, clothing fabrics made primarily from pure cotton yarn and short-staple fiber blends—typical for autumn and winter—are being offered in spot markets in varying quantities on a daily basis. Spot transactions have mostly involved small batches and multiple shipments. While transaction volumes have shown a mix of steady growth and occasional surges, overall market activity remains insufficient, with some small- and medium-sized businesses reporting consistently weak sales in recent days.
Recently, as the weather has grown cooler day by day, there has been a localized increase in the number of merchants from both northern and southern regions entering the Chinese traditional market. Consequently, spot supplies of various fabric categories have risen. In particular, clothing fabrics made primarily from pure cotton yarn and short-fiber blended yarns for the autumn and winter seasons have seen fluctuating daily spot supply volumes. Most spot transactions involve small batches placed in multiple shipments. While transaction activity has shown a mix of steady and slightly accelerated pace over recent days, overall market turnover remains insufficient, with some small- and medium-sized businesses experiencing persistently weak sales. Prices for short-fiber fabrics used in autumn and winter have remained stable yet are trending upward; prices for certain urgently needed, relatively popular batches have edged up slightly.
In the recent market, spot transactions and order placements for conventional cotton fabrics for autumn and winter, pure-cotton fashion casual fabrics, and T/C polyester-cotton fashion casual fabrics have been steadily increasing. Some large-scale retail outlets have seen relatively smooth sales, while smaller and medium-sized businesses have experienced relatively weaker sales volumes. For pure-cotton denim and T/C polyester-cotton denim, most transactions are small-batch and frequent-spot deliveries, with occasional mid-sized orders in certain areas; small-scale operators, however, have found it relatively difficult to secure orders. The range of available styles—including plain-weave pure-cotton denim, twill-weave pure-cotton denim, and coarse- and fine-striped T/C polyester-cotton denim—has expanded, and small-batch, multi-variety transactions have been relatively smooth in localized markets. Colored woven cotton fabrics and colored woven T/C polyester-cotton fabrics come in a wide variety of colors and styles; yet their spot availability remains relatively limited. Prices have shown a generally stable-to-rising trend depending on whether they are new or established styles. Many innovative striped and checked colored woven cotton fabrics and colored woven T/C polyester-cotton fabrics are primarily sold in small batches and multiple varieties, and some smaller and medium-sized businesses have faced relatively weak sales. Several smaller and medium-sized businesses have experienced fluctuating and shrinking transaction volumes, with localized shortages becoming apparent.
Recently, the marketing volume of grey fabrics made from short-staple blended yarns has continued to increase locally in the grey fabric market, and the number of varieties experiencing price hikes has also risen.
Recently, in the market, locally available stock of coarse woolen fabrics for autumn and winter—woven using various raw material blends such as T/R polyester-viscose yarns, polyester-wool yarns, and rayon-viscose yarns—has seen a localized increase. The volume of spot goods available for sale has significantly risen compared to the previous period, with many retail outlets reporting small-batch transactions involving multiple varieties, resulting in relatively smooth local sales. Various short-fiber yarn-based autumn and winter styles—including viscose yarn-based brushed and coated fabrics, T/C polyester-cotton yarn-based brushed and coated fabrics, T/R polyester-viscose yarn-based napped fabrics, and rayon-viscose yarn-based looped fabrics—are being introduced into the market on a spot basis, with sales progressing smoothly in localized areas. The supply of knitted looped fabrics made primarily from short-fiber yarns, produced on large circular knitting machines, remains relatively limited; however, order intake has increased locally, and order prices have shown localized upward trends.
Recently, among traditional market fabrics for autumn and winter short-fiber yarns, T/R polyester-viscose wool-like fabrics, T/C polyester-cotton plain weaves, cotton-nylon blends, cotton-spandex fabrics, and short-fiber coated imitation leather fabrics have seen steady to moderate increases in daily transactions. However, the growth in sales volume remains relatively slow, and some small- and medium-sized businesses still report insufficient sales. Transaction volumes of T/C polyester-cotton fabrics have experienced narrow, localized fluctuations, yet overall market demand remains weak, with transaction prices generally stabilizing. In the broader market for various types of rayon fabrics, overall transactions continue to decline, with prices remaining stable but trending downward. The availability of ready-to-deliver digital-printed rayon fabrics, carved-printed rayon fabrics, embroidered rayon fabrics, carved-and-embroidered rayon fabrics, and dyed rayon fabrics has significantly decreased, leading to a general drop in transactions; for some varieties, businesses are mainly relying on displaying samples to attract orders.
In recent days, sales of T/R65/35 yarn imitating wool and T/R80/20 yarn imitating wool for making autumn/winter suits, dress pants, and casual tops have seen a localized increase. Spot supplies are relatively scattered, and the volume of spot supplies available is relatively limited. For most medium- to thick-weight autumn/winter imitation wool fabrics, transactions are mainly in small to medium batches; larger-volume orders are mostly custom-made upon specific request, though order shipments tend to be somewhat delayed.
Due to the fact that some large orders involve substantial credit sales, and it remains temporarily difficult to collect payment for these goods, most large credit-based orders have been rejected, and the majority of credit sales have failed to close. This year, a relatively large number of small- and medium-sized businesses remain hesitant to accept large orders, citing low profit margins, prolonged capital tie-up, and difficulties in collecting payments for credit-based goods. As many batches from these small- and medium-sized businesses continue to face challenges in closing deals, the overall sales growth in traditional markets remains relatively constrained.
